In the 1940s, Mather completed site construction work for Connecticut’s booming defense industry, which offered tremendous growth opportunities for the company. Throughout the 1950s, post-war general contracting and flood rehabilitation work kept Mather very busy. During this time, Dexter’s grandson, Linwood, Jr. came aboard. In 1967, Linwood, Sr. passed away. That year, too, the company expanded by adding engineers to its staff. By the mid-1980s, Mather had built a state-of-the-art fleet of construction equipment, and Linwood Mather III became the fourth generation to join the company. Under the direction of fourth-generation brothers Todd S. Mather and Linwood S. Mather III, the company continues to perform site development and road work throughout Connecticut. |
